hey i have a 1995 240sx and the check engine light is on. when its cold it will start and drive fine. but when its warm it will go to a really low rpm and it will cut off. it sounds like it has an exaust leak and someone told me it may need a new mas airflow sensor could this be causing it to do this?

Check this^

And yes a MAF sensor can give you the low rpm idle like you described.

If the ticking is coming from the exhaust manifold then check your manifold bolts. I had a loud ticking coming from my manifold at it turned out that 50% of the bolts were missing.

As far as the fuel pump is concerned, the hardest part for me is dealing with corroded/rusty parts that wont budge.

Ok something similar happened to me on my SOHC try this, start the car, warm it up make sure its doing the problem, on the intake manifold there should be a temp sensor (coolant temp I think it is) anyways disconnect it and try to start the car, if it fires up its the sensor, think its like $26 at autozone, try it and see what happens and let me know, hope this helps.
