Recently, I've been having an issue with my 1994 300zx na when starting up. It's been real cold lately, I don't know if that makes a difference or not, but my problem is when I start the car it idles then putters and dies. The only way I can keep the car on is if I give the car some gas and then it will stay on. This issue usually happens on the first startup of the day, after the car has been running and warm, the car starts up fine. I want to get rid of this problem so I can avoid having to rev my car just to keep it on. Any suggestions of what the issue is, will be of great help, thanks?

Mine does it as well, just on very rare occasions, also only when cold. Mine started after my fuel injectors failed and I had them replaced, so I would kinda chalk it up to something that happened during the repair. I'd like some info on this as well, though.

Things I've tried:

-Cleaning electrical connections
-Clean air filter
-New fuel filter
-Clean MAF

I'm pretty sure its injector related. Mine does it too. At first it revs to like 2k then immediately boggs to like 400 rpm and doesn't sound like its firing on alll 6. But as long as I keep the clutch in it won't die. It lasts like 4 seconds then comes to life. After I seafoamed for smog it got better. Maybe its injector goop. And the cold makes it worse. Idk

id check the temp sensor buddy. if its not reading properly then the car doesnt know its cold and inject the extra bit of fuel. just like how ud pull the choke on a old carb engine

usually when a coolant temp sensor goes out it makes it difficult to start the car when it's warm. if the sensor is broken by default most cars just assume the car is cold.

My car had this same issue when I had bad injectors. cleared up after I replaced them. you might want to go to each of your injectors and check them with a multi-meter.
