I just bought a new battery last week and my car died. I roll up my windows and they go up really slow but the radio works fine. I try to start my car and its about to start and dies then my car alarm goes off. is the altanator or the starter?

Its most likely your alt. Especially if you got a new battery and it just happened to die...it would mean that the alt. isn't charging the battery.

check you battery terminals for good contact as well as the other ends of the battery cables at the starter and the block. it sounds like it is breaking contact during cranking but coming right back since the alarm goes off. start by cleaning the battery terminals and cable clamps.

lost its probably your starter. next time it happens have some one hold the key in the start postion while you thump the stater with your tire iron or a long prybar. it will jar the starter enough to make contact in the solonoid part of the assembly.

Lost, it sounds to me like you're having problems with your starter. That clicking sound you hear is the solenoid trying to work, and not quite getting the job done. Go get your starter tested, or just buy a new one.

wut if it only clicks once or twice when i try to start the car each time...like i turnthe keythis problem doestn happen all the time..mostly seems to not start after ive driven den rested my car for aboout an hour.

i just test my battery, 12.43 with engine off, 14.03 when engine running, so that means that its not my battery or alt right?
