ok sooo....tonight after i left work i turned onto the road i have to and i floored it(cause it was wet) and just ya kno shifted really quick making sure not to rev high and did it again into third gear. now, when i stopped at the light, i was just sitting there and i tapped the gas just for the hell of it and i didnt hear my engine rev...i was, umm wtf? i saw my check engine light was on. Sooo then i was like ooooo ****...wtf did i do now..i attempted to start the car, it started, idled rough as hell, then just died. If i tried to give it gas it died. After i pushed my car to the side of the road(so the people behind me could go..and a cop pulls up..) i pop my hood and it smells like something is burning bad..i kno i have an small oil leak but this is worse then usual. i left my hood open and tried to start it again, doesnt start, (while the hood is still open) the cop told me to close the hood and we are gonna push my car into the gas station right there. i say ok, close the hood as he moves his cop car. I try to start my car again and it starts, idles fine....now im like WTF?!?!......any ever experience this and might kno a reason why it did that? cause im clueles....

Fuel filter....But the smell though...Maybe a bad ground connection on mafs...Sure the smell wasn't your clutch or brakes?

the smell might be my clutch cause i am a beginner manaul driver but it shouldn't be my brakes, i only used them to stop at the light, ill have to take a look at the fuel filter tomorrow when i get the time.

might be a clogged EGR. mine did that once or twice until i got rid of it.
