OK, so on my way to to work today my car just died, not electrically but mechnically. I was driving and lost acceration, it would go in and out. After a few hundred yards it started to buck, almost as if it was out of gas, but there is gas in the car. I was able to limp into a parking lot. The car will start but once i try to give it gas, the car will die. Please help...

Fuel pump or not enough fuel pressure. Something could be clogged in your fuel filter.

turn on the key, and listen for the fuel pump to prime.

if its priming, rip off the fuel filter, and check for flow..

Yeah it sounds fuel related, so test your fuel pressure and then narrow it down from there. Could have a clog/leak in a line or the fuel filter, or the fuel pump may be malfunctioning. I don't think all four of your injectors would sh*t on you at the same time. My fuel pump broke last year and i fixed it with an ebay replacement, and just had to put a new one in it last month because the cheap POS broke again. Sometimes you can hear it turn on, but it still isn't putting out enough pressure. Easy test

Where is the pump harness connector? Sorry not to familiar with it. In the back where the hatch and the access panel is?

OK I will have to call AAA and get it towed to my house. And then test the fuel pump, anyone think it could be MAF one friend mentioned that...

don't do that.. unless you release pressure first.... if not you get a face full of fuel.

Yeah, I pulled off an injector once and had my eyes full of fuel. It burned like the fire of a thousand suns for about 30 minutes. I flushed my eyes then I went back to work on my car. =P

Gonna wear my flame suit for this one.... got the car towed home... popped the hood (for the first time since the break down) and saw that my cone filter along with the MAF had fallen off and that's what caused the car to bog out and stall. Mind you I was late for work and didnt have time to try and diagnose or fix a problem and I called AAA before i left work to minimize tow truck wait time and needless to say my prob was solved within 5min of getting it off the tow truck. :(

Well at least you got it running. We are all human and make mistakes. I called for a jump one time only to find out my battery cable was loose on the post lol. It happens.

Ya glad it wasn't anything serious, and like I said I was late for work so I wasn't really thinking about fixing it right then and there and it felt like a fuel rpob so no need to pop the hood... or so I thought...

Didn't pay anything AAA Gold Member :) $5 to the tow truck driver for being nice enough to worry about not scraping my car and being one of the only ones to do it successfully

rather...

Turn off the key, and remove key from ignition

remove fuel filter (with fuel pump OFF)

turn the fuel pump upside down, and see if fuel comes out or not.. if it is restricted, the fuel filter will remain heavy and full of fuel, and not drain.

I laughed very hard, thanks dittoz
