I drove my 96 TT through some water in a parking lot and the thing died. Now when I try to start it, it sounds like it try's to crank then just stops. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear it. try unpluging the fuel pump relay, pull the coil packs and spark plugs and try to turn it over. It should fire the water out. If you didn't damage anything, when you put everything back together it should be fine, you'll need to do your fluids. If it binds again crank the engine over by hand, If the internals were damaged then it will bind and you wont be able to turn it and you'll know you need to do a re-build/new engine.

I will do that. I wouldnt have thought water could have got into engine, as the puddle was only just barely hitting the bumper.

Depends how low your intake filter(s) are sitting, it definitely sucked enough in to make it shut off. Or you fried the MAF sensor, did you check for codes yet?

That reminds me, I really need to get the splash guard that goes under the intake. Hope you didn't kill the engine if you hydrolocked.
