Ok. So, sometimes, mostly when I take a short (<1 mile) jaunt, and then turn the car off, when I go to start the car again, it'll start, the rpm's will then swiftly drop and the car will shut off. Then, when I try to start it again, it cranks and cranks and cranks and cranks, and if I give it a little throttle while I crank, it seems to help it start. Once it starts, I rev the crap out of it, and the idle settles at 900 rpm.

Now, today was particularly bad, I had to wait almost 15 minutes before it would start and while I was waiting, I looked at my tailpipe, and there was a thick white smoke, and a smell of fuel coming from my tail pipe. My plugs are black, but I wouldn't say they were fouled, and I know I have good compression (did a comp test) and my battery is less than a year old. (got it in october).

Any ideas? Where should I start diagnosis?

your flooding. what kind of spark plugs? you prob have a consistant rich condition. rich conditions can be coolant temp sensor, mass air flow meter, or even to some extent o2 sensor related. if you know its getting ready to happen, just nail the throttle. a little extra air helps it out. you may want to check your idle, timing, and tps adjustment. if you cant get it started(when its really flooded) try pinching the fuel hose or removing the fuel pump fuse until it trys to start and then let go/install fuse.
