I don't think any of the Z's had an inertia switch unless maybe the 350z has one?

what model of Z are we talking about? the S30 and S130's will not come on of the AFM is stuck or non functioning

do you have power at the pump? ground?

It's a 85 300zx nonturbo. A project car. It would not start when I got it.The fuel pump stoped working when I drained the tank to put fresh gas in it. So I'm kind of stuck right now.I checked fuses and relay's they seem to be ok.I also have no spark. Thanks

sounds like you disturbed something when you dropped the tank thats your 2nd problem check your grounds to the pump get back there with a test light and figure out what messed up when you dropped the tank. as for the car not starting before you dropped the tank could be a # of things if it doesnt have spark then i would start looking at maybe your ignition module making sure its got power to it the grounds are good see if you can find somewhere to test it then the coil and also make sure the magnetic pick up is working but those rarely ever go bad.

was the gas reallly nasty? the Z31 uses and in tank pump and if you had rust and slutch int he tank the pump might well be dead, have you checked for power and ground at the pump?

randomly throwing parts at it won't fix anything, you have a fuel problem so you replaced allthe ignition parts? will the car fire up with a shot of starting fluid? you should spray it directly into the tb replace the inlet pipe then crank, if it fires up and then dies you've confirmed a lack of fuel
