i've already tried searching but got some other post that has nothing to do with what i'm looking for.....the problem i have here is that my g35 cranks but will not turn over completely...it cranks to the point where the ecu shuts the car down and wont crank any more...i have notice that in the morning when i start the car i can feel the engine shake like it's miss firing or something...i've had a situation like this before with an 05 Xterra and had to replace a device that distribute the power just like a distributor on older model cars...i'm leaning toward this because everything else works..i have power coming throw...so in short the car wont start anymore....car is 03 g35 sedan with about 105000 miles...any suggestion will be helpfull

For the engine to run, it requires fuel, and spark.
Pull the plugs out after trying to crank it.
If they are wet, and smell like fuel, then you know the fuel is getting in there.
If not, take a look at the fueling system, and make sure your fuel pump is working, and hasn't blown a fuse.

With the plug out, first dry it off, then attach the lead to it.
Crank the engine over to see if you are getting spark on that exposed plug.
If not, and the plugs look bad, try changing them for new ones.
Make sure all the plugs are done up tight, and the leads are firmly on.
Check all your fuses.

Plenty to look for really, and can't make a good diagnosis without seeing the car in person.
If you can't figure it out from the suggestions I have given, you may just have to bite the bullet and take it to a shop.

2003 Infiniti G35 Recall ID from NHTSA: 03V455000
Auto Recall Date: 11/17/2003
Vehicle Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
Estimated Vehicles Affected: 630000
2003 INFINITI G35 Defect Summary:
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE CIRCUIT BOARD FOR THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR OR CAM POSITION SENSOR MAY HAVE AN IMPROPER SOLDER JOINT DUE TO SOLDER DEFORMATION CAUSED BY HEAT STRESS ACCELERATED BY THE EXISTENCE OF FLUX RESIDUE DURING THE SOLDERING PROCESS.

ok..did what i can today and found out that i have fuel....also took my VIN in to infiniti and check about the recalls and the vehicle was taken in from the previous owners....the only recall i have on there is a bracket under the seats...ok so i'm thinking that it has to do with the IPDM=the power supply unit on the car..when i was reading the FSM things clicked to me when i was trying to start the car at night..i will give that a try by running the test they have on the FSM

I've had issues where the battery "seemed" fine but was not putting out enough amps (In my Maxima, not my G...but I have had to replace the batteries in both my G's at this point). Have you validated volts and amps from the charging system?

Yeah, Like audtatious said. it can be battery. try jumping the car just to see if that will do it.

the parts guy at the nissan dealership told me the same thing too, and asked about the fuse on the battery....now if i'm not getting enough ampreage it would sound like the battery is getting drained when the car cranks...but it's not...it cranks constantly to the point where something in the ecm or ecu shouts off the ignition then i have to turn the key back to off and repeat....but i will check as of now it's dark outside..

it's not that simply...it was noticeable when i fill the tank up every time...when i start it up after each fill up, car feels like it's gasping for air...and in the morning when i start the car up..i can feel the engine shake like there isn't enough spark...will get back here after i get it up and running soon

have you changed your plugs?

there is a fuse under the drivers kick panel which will keep it from starting while it cranks

if the key is not pairing up with the ECU these symptoms will occur

If you have a cam phase sensor going bad (pretty common) it can cause low idle, bad start conditions, or sudden engine shut-off condition

As mentioned above, insufficient battery power will do this - can appear to be fine but just not enough to start the vehicle.

the factory spark plugs(platinum NGK) are supposed to be replaced at 105K miles - so you need a tune up at a minimum it if hasn't been done.

check out the other things I mentioned - starting with the fuses. Always start with the easiest and cheapest things. :)
