If you have vacationed in Ft Lauderdale this past spring, you noticed that the stretch of A1A that lays at the end of my street is being completely re-done. What were told would take a few months, has, so far, been over a year and they are still messing about with it! They are laying red brick pavers for a sidewalk and building a white marble-looking divider between the walk and the actual sand. That causes a thick layer of red and white dust on top of the usual very thin film of beach sand that I am greeted by when I get into my car each day.
Since my garage is maxed out with the 68 Fleetwood, 2 jet skis on a trailer, windsurfer, etc ... I want to get a nice car cover for my M until this never-ending road work is complete.. I don't think it's necessary to spend over posh $300 for one like I did for my Fleetwood, but I don't want a cheap one that allows dust and water to seep under it, or one that has a cheapo inside layer that will scratch the car whilst covering it.
I think I found a good deal. Supposedly this fits Ms of all years and I quite fancy the zippered door opening. What are your thoughts? Does anyone else already have a cover they recommend?

I think in your location you might be better off without a cover. If it gets dust and sand under it the wind can blue and cause the cover to shift around the sand will act like an abrasive and damage your paint.

i was concerned about that as well. All of the covers make note of stopping UV rays, water, etc but they never mention if the pores in the cover can stop sand. I think you're right and I will forget about the cover. Thanks for the response !
