I hear if you get a good waxing (not that kind of waxing!!! :p) and/or "detailing", all you need to do is just wipe the truck down, no need to really "wash" it.
Car cover can get your car dusty as well, as dust can get trapped underneath the cover as if it's encapsulating the dust and stuff within the cover and leave it on your car. Though, it will protect it more.
My previous owner passed his car cover to me, and I've just kept it in the box he gave it to me in. I haven't checked it out, but it seems pretty durable. I'll check the tag and see who makes it, but it looks comparable to the car-covers sold at CostCo's.
