Just a quick poll to see if anyone else uses a car cover.

Hey man i was looking into covers before i bought the car.... I was told that a cover is to keep a car clean.... meaning ONLY TO BE PUT ON A CLEAN CAR...

I thought a little more to myself... i live by the beach and theres sand that accumulates on the lip of the bumper btwn the foggies... just imagine putting that cover on, with sand/dirt/birdcrizzap underneith... and it just rubs it into the paint...

No cover for me.

Too much hassle to take it off and put it back on, and when the car gets dirty the most by driving it.

Just keep a good coat of wax on it and only use touch-free automatic washes in the winter and you'll be good to go.

We had snow that froze overnight here in Baltimore - so my car is tucked in the top of my driveway with the cover on. High Power Rear Wheel Drive and Snow don't mix - so I've always considered the G Coupe for me to be a 3 season car. During the worst of winter I will have the car covered for the most part - especially if it snows.

IMO this is the main area where the AC shines (relative to the GC) - FWD gives you a fighting chance in inclement weather.

Yes - your car should be clean so that you don't "contaminate" the cover. The worst thing about the cover that I've noticed so far - is the wind. You may need to attach additional anchors - I'm using a couple of paint cans.

I found a decent one on ebay for around $40-50. It may also fit the AC since the outside dimensions are similar.

Good Luck.

I used a cover a couple times in the winter on one of my older cars. It always would freeze to the car etc. Ended up being a pain in the butt. In my opinion car covers are used better to aid in protection from dust etc, not necessary snow.
