My car (an s14) has been running great for the past 6 months. So of course the day before my new job it completely dies.
It started with a check engine light so i figured i'd check the computer code myself to save some money, of which i have none.
The code reported was 32 (EGR System). So first, what does that mean?
Second, after i reset the computer i attempted to start the car (up until this point the car started perfectly fine) and all i got was "err err err tik tik tik tik tik". What the heck? So I ran through the whole computer procedure again and made sure it ended up in it's home position and all that.. now the computer reports 55 (Everything Okay). Gee that's nice.. will you please start the engine now? 'No.'
It didn't make much sense being that all the electrical stuff worked okay but i gave the car a jump just to rule that out. Nothin.
What the heck is going on? Can the computer prevent an otherwise functioning car to not start up? And does this EGR thing have anything to do with starting up?
Thanks for any help,
-arion
