Solenoid clicks, starter doesn't turn over. Here's what I've done so far.

1. Tapped starter with hammer2. Removed starter and tested at AutoZone, pushing 100 amps3. Pushed in clutch switch while turning key to ignition4. Tried to jumpstart5. Disabled car alarm while turning key6. Cleaned all electrical connections and grounds7. Cussed at it with all my might

Now I'm slightly passed discouraged and could use some advice. Thanks in advance.

check your battery cables for corrosion and make sure they are secure.

stick a screwdriver you dont care about between the two big terminals and see if something happens. it will make sparks by the way. prob what nistech said above.

Cables are fine, connection is secure, battery is fully charged. Anything else?

i have the same problem...never could actually be arsed to find the starter to tap on it, but i get the same *click* sometimes when i try to start it. you just gotta keep clicking it until it starts...it helps to tap on the starter relay (i think thats what its called) its a 100 volt relay looking thing with a bunch of cables coming out of it. its located next to the battery kinda underneath the fender...try tapping on that with something blunt and then going back to the key and giving it a few quick turns (like 20 or so) usually i end up kickstarting it and after a while of driving, if i go to the store for instance, i can go inside, do what i need to do, then go back to my car and start it up fine.

is it like this with you? the only advice i have is to knock that little relay around. if that little relay is the starter, then im a retard and i have no advice for you...except learn how to kickstart your car (not your heart) if you dont already know.

drift forever...does the relay have two connectors on the bottom of it? if so it is prob the clutch interlock relay and you can get a new one cheap.

doctor j...are you sure the solenoid is clicking and not something else on the motor? there are some other things that make noise. even if you are i would put a test light on the starter just for redundancy sake. put it on the little "plug in" first and turn key to start. it should light up in start. then put on the big terminal with the big wire coming off of it. it should be hot all the time. then put it on the other big terminal thats connected to the starter. it should only be hot when starting.
