Okay, in the spring/summer i will be gettin a 240sx. I plan to get a 97-98 and put a notchtop sr20det in it, and (if it fits) the S15 6 speed. So my question is whether i should get an s14 or s13. Which one drift better? Are they essentially the same thing with diff bodies??? thanksChris

Most rank it in order of drifty-ness in: S15, S13/180SX, S14.

Also, if you are planning to get a S14 engine with a S15 transmission, good luck. : )

Don't get a 6-speed to drift with. The S15 transmission uses the same bellhousing as the S14, but fits more gears in it, making the gears weaker. Many hardcore drifters in Japan actually swap out the 6-speed, and put in S14 5-speeds.

And like Dauntless said, good luck finding an S15 transmission. Be prepared to pay out the *** for it too.

I'm just gonna swap a blacktop S13 engine/transmission into my car. Its cheaper, and who the hell want VVT anyway? If I wanted that I'd buy a Honduh.

okay, points taken. so you guys are saying that s13 is better for drifting? I have found a couple 6 speed tannys around in shops (not just ebay) they're like 1500. Whats wrong with VVT? it helps on the top end, no? I think it would confuse the hell out of people to hear my engine, hear it go into the VVT lobe (i assume its lobes) then a BOV.anyways, all opinions wanted. . .

ok for the lights http://www.clearcorners.com and you can find body accessories at jspec.com. as far as the headlight conversions dont get the eastbear one, apparently you will never want to drive at night again.

They don't light worth anything. They look cool to some people but you basically won't be able to drive at any time that would require headlights, not exactly the safest thing in the world.

that light kit. . . .

there is a similar kit for miata's and someone on a miata page bought the kit and replaced the lights with those tiny hella HID lights. He gave pics and its some of the best headlights i have seen. Gave such a good lighting pattern. . . anyways. . .you think something like that may be possible or should i just buy the lights and try to fiberglass the housing myself (which means my roomate who is a car audio installer. . )flash
