Hi, All

My 2007 Versa cannot start suddenly. I drove it OK on Friday night and cannot start it now.

PS light is on. Charge warning light is on, Engine oil pressure warning light is on and MIL light is on.

Could any one offer me some idea what might be the cause for all these? I tried to extract the check engine code based on the post here but could not get it to work. Thank you very much.

does it try to turn the engine over? does it turn over but won't start? can you hear the fuel pump pressurize the system?

Yes. I think it's trying to turn over the engine. But it cannot start and I also see the light in the car becomes dim while starting. Guess that's why I see a charge warning light on there. But I don't understand why I also see other warnings.

your saying the battery is weak? by the age of your car I would say its time for replacement anyways... if the lights dim out while cranking then there isnt enough power in the battery... did you test the battery? check voltage? charge the battery? check all the battery connections for corrosion or loose cable?

Battery maybe a problem. But why I also get "engine oil pressure warning" and MIL? That's something making me confused.

if those lights stay on after the engine is running then you have an issue... it is normal for the lights to come on when the key is turned to start the car or if equipped with a start button.

Yes. They stay on. Just wonder what might be the possible reason for that.

then it sounds like you need to take the car into the shop and diagnose the problems... there can be any number of reasons as to why those lights are lit. checking codes would be the first step... I would only be guessing without further diagnostic work... I have seen low voltage cause all kinds of havoc as these systems need full battery/charging system to function properly. I would have the codes read asap...

All of those lights come on when the engine is not running. Every time you turn the key to run before you start it, the MIL, charge, PS, Temp Lights, oil, TPMS, and ABS (if equipped) will come on to verify that they are in working order.

Well, how would he know that the lights stay on after the car is running, if he can't start the car? The lights will come on as a check when you turn the key on, but there seems to be some confusion on the OP's end. It's either running or it isn't. If it isn't, then the lights are probably not the issue.

Without more detailed info, my first guess is that he simply needs a new battery.

He says that "he thinks the car is trying to turn over" - which probably indicates a weak crank...

No conclusion to the this Thread? It sound like a battery issue, But it also reads like a timing belt issue. Need more info. Take the battery to get tested at Autozone, Pepboys, O'Rilley's, etc, an we can continue from there. It would be great to have a conclusion to issues like these for other to learn and be able to fix the problem.

Funny, its either turning over or it isn't? Engine cranking?
