Hey! Long time no see Nico! I lost my S13 in an accident about a month ago and parted my car and CA18DET out. After I got everything done and over with I just decided not to buy another 240. But after awhile car searching I couldn't but be helped to get pulled back in. Searching for a Honda or anything else is hard because most people here in California don't know how much what they have is actually worth. I can't say the same for Nissans but I find it more reasonable. Just today thought I came across a deal that I think is more than worth it.

Long story short, I parted out my S13 after I crashed it and now in the lookout for something else. This is what I found.

The Craigslist Ad:
1989 Nissan 240sx Silvia 5-speed coupe .skyline seats and grill - $2800
1989 240 sx Nissan Silvia has Silvia front end coupe with r32 skyline grill and r32 skyline seats. Dift ready with wielded diff
Kybgx shocks cold air intake and exuast
191k miles single cam ka 24 some interior stripped but I have all interior for it
Runs great 5-speed trans. Great motor
Body ok has dent on fender and hood
Call XXX-XXX-XXXX only con is starter not that great. Megan racing harness for seats dash has one crack has Black and white rims

This is my second time buying a 240 but I want to do it right this time. Some things that concern me is how hard is it to find a silvia hood? And how hard is it to reinstall all the interior in a coupe?

He didn't post if it's clean title or not, it passes smog apparently, stock SOHC KA24, still kept all interior pieces he stripped out, and it's "drift ready".

Is this worth it? My first S13 hatch I bought with a CA18DET I paid about $4000 + $200 more to get it smog'd in California. I know I somewhat overpaid for it so this time I want opinions from other people. My friends say get it for the most part and I think this would be a fun project car to either get a SR20 or KA-T.

Welcome back!

With that said... UGH. Why not look for one that some pinhead kid hasn't hacked up? In all my years of buying and modding cars, the BEST platform to begin with is an unmolested, stock car.

You're gonna spend a crap-ton of money undoing all the halfassed crap the prior owner did to that poor car, and you'll be no closer to having a NICE S13.

Well I mainly think this is a good deal because of the silvia front and R32 seats/grill.
I'd love to buy a stock 240 but finding one in my area for my price range shouldn't be hard but for some reason is. Most of them are either in non-running condition or has a really "shadey" SR20 swap with no reciepts or proof that a "performance company" swapped it in. Also outrageously priced, for example I found a non-running S13 with no engine for around $1500... If thats not overpriced, I don't know what is.

I totally understand were you're coming from for the most part though. I guess I'm somewhat jumping the gun but I really miss my S13.

I'd offer the kid 2k... Bought my last s13 for 5200 and it had Silvia front with GTR grill, built sr20 pushing 350+hp, stance coilo overs, jic strut rods tie rods suspension components etc. like you said here in Cali most ppl think their s*** is worth it's weight in gold, this I fear is another example of said phenomena. A stock 240 s13 single cam is worth 1500 at most and this guy has a few more add ons. f*** it offer him 1700 and go up from there but don't exceed 2200 because you will find a better deal out there u just gotta keep looking

Well apparently some guy picked it up within hours of posting it for the price he asked for. Looking for coupes here in Cali is pretty difficult. Most people only have the hatch. Personally I like the hatch better but I want the coupe because it supposidly has more head room in the back seat?

Just wondering, how much does a silvia front usually go for and how hard is it to install it?
