i hate the world, they punched out my key tumbler pass side, took the whole a pillar and guages, stereo, dash cover, my ash tray, my backpack-but they left all my books and binders, and the car was a mess. my technical ? is how do u guys with turbo timers get ur alarm to work, i have been told a couple ideas involving relays and diodes, but some possible side effects im not liking, so what did u do? thanks

Sigh... I absolutley hate punks like that. It makes me so mad that other people can't get a job and buy stuff like the rest of us. They are just lazy and take things from other people. It sucks, I would know I've had my truck broken Into. My only advice I can give to you If you don't already know Is to keep the BARE minium of things in your car. I know with gauges and stuff like that, It can be hard. When I go turbo I plan on doing a setup like buddwiser had where he put a cover over his gauges. But things like books, face plate to your stereo, and other misc. items you have to take with you. And keep nothing but your regsitration In your glove box.

I know you feel violated and pissed off, but you just have to shake It off and recover. Hope everything goes well :-P

Look for someone fixing up an S13. If they took your dash cover and your ash tray they probably are restoring one, or know someone who is.

timed relay on the ignition wire of the alarm and the motion sensor tripwire.

sorry bout that man. I used to install for a livin and thieves find ways no matter what. alarm or not. what alarm are you running?I have some diagrams for timed relays for alarm setups but some alarms run different outputs.timing the ing. wont really help you because you can bypass that with neg. outputs with alarm on. the only thing you should time is shock and or glass sensors. My 8080 has a manu/timed out already but i've done a few timed for turbos and autostart stuff. let me know if you cant find what your looking for and i'll see if i can get the diagrams for you. Hope this helps, keep ya head up.

If you are the only one that works on your car here is what I do,at least with audio equipment. DO NOT do this if you have other people work on your car though. I remove the outter case of the radio drill several small holes in the case along the edge and bolt on several of the straight edge razor blades with small bolts and nuts. make sure that all wiring is tie wraped away from the radio area and install the radio. that way when they grab the radio to rip it out they get such a deep cut they seek medical attention most likely, plus they leave a nice DNA sample for you as well. if you properly conseal the amp out of the passenger area you can also attach blades to its heat sink lip. Harsh you say. yes ,but stealing someones sh** they worked hard for is just as harsh.

quiksilvia: I'll dig out some diagrams and see what i got. I just need to know alarm brand and how long you have your timer running for, and i'll get back to ya soon.

quiksilvia: o.k so I got my wrinkled papers in order and i have some stuff on timing relays but most of them are for other apps. called my friend and he gave me a link and some advice and this will work on turbo timers that use the ignition output wire to detect whether the vehicle was turned off to activate the turbo timer,

30-40 amp spdt relay:

1) connect the turbo timers ignition output wire and cathode side of a 1amp diode to pin 86

2)connect a fused 25 amp 12V source to pin 87

3)cut ingnition wire in half and connect the key side of ingnition wire, alarms ignition sensing wire and anode side of the 1amp diode to pin 87A

4)pin 85 to ground

5)pin 30 to coil side of ingnition wire

6)connect the turbo timers accessory outputwire to the accessorywire on the ingnition harness

7)make sure the alarms ignition wire is conected to the relay and not anywhere else

hope this helps you quiksilvia and let me know how it goes. I'll keep on it as well because now my intrest is sparked so i will try to find more info

ya camel you were on the right trac with that .I've done turbo timers before but the ones with alarm setups all we had to do was use a ing. sensing wire off the alarm. The info is always good to have rattling around in the head anyways.

Ive always thought if I did a nice system setup and everything, I would use different sized torx bolts to keep everything in place. plus multiple sirens and batteries to really piss em off. but seriously, who carries all the dif. sized torx bitts with them to rob s***?? anyway, sorry to hear about this crap. hopefully you had insurance and can get some money back.

Torx bit vs. Crowbar

Who wins?

Remember, thieves don't really care about unscrewing stuff.

Another good idea - flashing blue light under the transmission hump, facing down. It make the area around the car look like the police are coming with the blue lights on... We used to do this on request when i did it for a living. Worked pretty well in a dark parking lot.
