I am tired of this. So, last Friday I wake up and go out to my car to drive to the airport because I was flying to WI to surprise my girlfriend. My mind was filled with happy thoughts right up until I saw my car in my apartment parking lot. I noticed my top was cut above my driver side and also the whole back window was cut out. They stole my stereo, CDs, tools, everything. At least they left the stock manual and didn't break the dash plastic. Good thing I had a club on my car, otherwise I wouldn't even be part of this car club anymore. So, I have already ordered a new top, headliner, pads, and a tinted back window (special order). I think that will look great with my tinted side windows, but just not excited to pay $650 for my top, plus installation. I'm not even going to attemt it myself because I want it done right. I hate people that feel like they have the right to take and destroy other people's property. Now I need to get a mackdaddy alarm and a car cover (so people won't know it's a covertible and easy to cut into).

Also, thanks Seth for the mud guards! I picked them up this past weekend and I will install them as soon as I get some tools again. Now I know how Loki feels.

Aww that sucks. But at least they didn't take the car. Is insurance buying that new top? I sure hope so.

And what's with the cutting of the back window? Just to be a d!ck? I guess it isn't enough to ruin the top and steal what little they can get.

check homeowner insurance if auto won't cover it. if neither, bust out your favorite 9 and go hunting.

Man.. that REALLY sucks!!!

Sorry to hear the bad news. That's def. a downside of the convertible.. easy to break into.

Glad you got the mudguards! They will look really sharp on a red car.

Stay in touch.. next time you are in the area give me a shout.

The reason is because I didn't have full coverage. I have a DUI on my record and the premiums are REALLY high here in CA. Well, I've learned my lesson and have to bite the bullet on this top. I just changed my insurane to full yesterday.

I flew into Madison. The Badger/Michigan game was awesome.

Also, Biggie, where did you buy your car cover from? Was it made to fit a 240 specifically??

i personally would love to see pics of the tinted back window...i was going to go that route with my old vert till it got wrecked. my new one has a perfect back window, so no need to buy another...if you';re getting an alarm, i recommend a viper (lifetime warranty) and trust me they can go bad...i dont have full coverage either but i have comp just not collision, i might want to step it up to full after seeing all the wrecked verts here recently. good luck my friend!

Ebay. Search 'Wolf 240sx Convertible'. Ebay store call Brand New Auto (also have a site, brandnewauto.com). I haven't received it yet, takes 10 days+ to ship it out. But yes, custom fit. I have had one before but sold hit when I had a garage, now needed one again.

They have 2 different Wolf covers you can compare them to see which you need, one is $120 other is $130, +$20 shipping, and I got the $8 cable/lock. A storage bag is an option as well (but I'll put mine on my Coupe when its not on the Vert.)

Dont feel bad man i've had everything stolen out of my 240 numerous times. One time i forgot to lock the doors so they just took their time and took my whole system even the wires that were well hidden. Another time they broke my passenger window b/c i had it locked. They only got away with my cd player. And this last time they used a slim jim on my door and unlocked it, but they left the slimjim in the back seat. They took my amp and my cd player but left my subwoofer. Now everything gets screwed or bolted down I invested in a car alarm with lojack and i put a camera outside my house right where I park my car at night. If they still try messing with it i'm going to hook up a shocker on the door handle!

That sucks! I also have that problem here as well. But it doesnt happen to my car. People around Sammamish, WA are to rich to figure out anything to do. So, the kids from my school end up stealing other peoples stuff in the cars while they are in the school parking lot. Thats why I keep extra carefull of my 240sx vert. I hope you get what you want

Don't leave anything of value in your verts... just asking for trouble.

I have a removable face plate on my stereo for a reason.

Also, a friend in the local miata club told me years ago he just leaves his top down because it's cheaper to replace a head unit than a top and a head unit
