I have a built sr but only stock turbo, smic, stock boost, 3 inch exhast.

Lately I will drive and the car will make full boost( checked with gauge) but it doesnt move like it used too. Car almost makes a supercharger whine wheen it hits boost now and ive changed out the turbo and it helped a little but still makes the noise and doesnt go. There is no boost leak either we checked with air comp. Now i was thinking maybe its the sidemount because of heatsoak and my mechanics told me a front mount will make a huge difference but it used to be responsive when it was hot out before. The plugs are fine, no smoke, no nothing, let me know what you guys think.

Did you break in this new turbo? I dunno how many miles your car has but maybe check to see if you have a dirty/clogged injector thats not given enough fuel.

could be the knock sensor, and yes a front mount does make a huge difference. I just replaced the smic with a fmic yesterday and it feels alot faster with the same 10lbs of boost.

My car has been doing this lately also. Doesn't do it right away, only after driving for a bit.

if you are running smic and it is hot outside then the amount of power your SRs makes will decrease from repeated open throttle runs.

My problem has nothing to do with intercoolers, it is not me getting used to it. My problem feels like the ecu going into limp mode.

you would get a CEL if your car was in limp mode. Plus your car would rich and you could either see black smoke from your tailpipe or smell fuel outside the car...

my car is having similar problems, it'll build boost and it'll rev like crazy the car just won't take off as fast. It feels slower (somethings wrong) I'm doubtful of a boost leak, i just redid all my ic pipes. Yes i have a front mount.

PS sorry to threadjack, but i feel we may be having similar problems, please post what fixed your issue when you find it, thanks

got the same problem too....check timing is what i would say. boost leakk test would be first thing, check timing to make sure its set to 15 degrees of timing. im thinking my problem is my cam timing since i had gotten a built head. good luck with your problems. i know how it is to get beat by a stock sr on 10lbs when your on a t28 with 264's and 15lbs..

damm tell me about it lol , ok bro you might be having a problem with your CAS , i would say that maybe your car is not advancing the timing, does your manifold get too hot real quick??? also if you are able to get a scanner to connect to the ecu and check the timing , i use my launch infinite x431 scanner to diagnose nissan engines and it works great . another issue could be your throttle position sensor the scanner i am talking about is this = http://www.x431usa.com/infiniti.htm obviously you wont spent the 6 grand so you might want to look for another alternative or a local auto shop that has one or maybe check if the nissan conzul t software that is sold on ebay has this functions

My problem was CAS was off, bolts got loose and would shift. Problem 2 is my bov, it leaks slightly, just need a new o-ring for my tial. did you get your fm on yet? what bov are you running? this SC sound you were talking about is it still present? my type s wouldnt leak at idle or during boost leaks test but under load would and would create a whining sound. i would say if your not running a tial or hks bov....look into it.
