I was wondering what everyone elses boost gauge looks like while driving normally.(This has to do with my car running right. )Like does it reach your desired boost quickly and stay there. I have never really paid attention to other turbo cars before but mine takes awhile to reach its boost (.50 bar or hkpa) and the car is constantly in vacum even if i hold the throttle steady at 4000rpm , but if i realy get on it then it will start going into boost.

I am not sure if it is my car or just me, i thought it would hit .50 bar quickly and constantly be wastgateing air above 4000rpm.

any insight is appreciated.also it is a red top with a big 28 and the standard upgrades.

The only time I ever see positive boost is when I'm at WOT. Other than that, it's either in vacuum or hovering around 0.

when not on the gas or on it hard, the gauge should read -20 to -19 psi of vacuum. I know that measurement is wrong, but i forget what vacuum is measured in. That turbo is a little bit bigger then stock so it will take a little while longer to spool... but make sure that your vacuum lines from the throttle body are all hooked up right. also take off the intake and maek sure that the turbo is spinning freely is you are worried about it being seized.

all i know is my vac at idle is anywhere between 17 vac hg or wutever to 20 depending on how long the motor has been running. if i'm just chillen on the throttle holding it at an rpm, if i remember correctly, i'm pushin 0 psi if it's at WOT like tha other dude said, my lil t25 gets the full 6 pounds like it's nothin. i ran my gauge off of the fpr shizzle nizzle.

The only time you are going to be making boost is at or near wide open throttle. Anytime other than that, you're going to be in vacuum. Your RPMs don't effect how much you're going to be boosting. It's all about throttle position.

I was cruising along doing 100+ at ~5000RPM and 0psi earlier today. Yet as soon as I put the peddle all the way down, the boost gauge went right to 8psi.

To sum up, if you're at WOT and not getting full boost, you have a problem. If you're not at WOT and not getting full boost, that is normal.
