Hi I own a 93' 240sx. I recently had my timing adjusted, distributor cap/rotor replaced, new plugs and wires. Anyway when I am driving the car sometimes the power cuts out and the engine makes a lawnmower sound as if one of the plugs were gone. And just as suddenly as the problem occurs it will dissapear and the engine returns to normal. This happens quite often and I am thinking that a there is some ignition part that needs to be replaced. Also my idle is at 900. car has 100k

If it is not ignition stuff "which I would be lead to beleive that it is" I would go straight to the fuel system, starting with your fuel filter. You say it has 100k, ever change the fuel filter??? Good luck!

Yes I replaced the fuel filter about 3 months ago. My dad seems to think that the ignition control module, does this show the symptoms of a bad icm? Thanks.

To be honest I am not very sure on that, sorry for not being able to help. Another thing I thought of "just a thought though, not sure about it" they didn't mess around with your computer or anything right. Bad idles are usually, "I said usually" either the ignition, fuel, or computer. Good luck though and keep me updated, I would like to know for my own piece of mind now.

Hey, former. I went and had the car checked out. Turns out 2 injectors had gone bad. Today I replaced with 2 new ones, bought some ngk plug wires, and installed a n1 muffler. Feels like the car is on steroids:pface :pface . Thank you

Try SeaFoam now that you have changed the plugs, you probably have some carbon built up in there.
