alright, my car seems to be not getting fuel to the number 1 cyclinder. I just replaced the distributor cap and rotor, wires and plugs. I replaced the injector with a spare i had around. Still no fuel!!! The car ,when it actually turns on just belts white smoke and smells of fuel out of the front and back. Oh, its a ka24de........ When i replaced the spark plugs i drove about 10 miles, and it started doing the same thing, bogging and not going anywhere. I took the spark plug out of the number 1 cyclinder and it looks almost band new compared to the other three. THanks

Did you check to see if you're getting spark? Just take the spark plug wire for that cylinder and place it onto the valve cover, see if any spark jumps to the valve cover.

if you can smell fuel, it sounds like you're getting fuel...the white smoke sounds like you have other problems.

if the injector rail is easily accesable pull it out and lay it where you can see all the injector nozzles disconnect and ground your coil wire with a jumper and crank the engine see if all injectors are spraying and appear to be fairly even. if any of them continue to spray when your not cranking the injector is stuck open. note they may spray for a sec when just cycling the key from off to on that is not abnormal. other then that they should not spray unless cranking. the white smoke you mention indicates a possible head or head gasket problem and may be in that cylinder with the "clean" spark plug

Alright.....replaced the injector......fuel pump went out......replaced that.... now the car barely turns on...and when it does, i can press the gas and the revs dont jump at all.......no smoke out the back...i am getting spark, i wondered if a bad fuel pressure regulaotr could be the problem or maybe a o2 sensor. How do you test these things, and not by putting new ones on .... thanks

ok first the o2 has no efect on how a car runs when first started and even if it was warmed up the o2 would not have that great of effect on the engines ability to rev. once the throttle is depressed over 3/4 of the way it puts the fuel control in open loop.meaning fuel is not being monitered by the computer so the o2 is out of the picture. second the fuel pressure regulator will not have that much of an effect if it was always closed just a high idle and maybe foul plugs over a long period of time. but if it is leaking into the vac line attached to it it will make it run extremely rich and that is an easy check .just pull the vac line off it its wet with fuel it needs replacement. sounds more to me like you have either a corroded coolant temp sensor connector or a bad air flow meter. to check the coolant temp sensor.. disconnect it and inspect the connections...if it is green and crusty try using a pocket screw driver on both the connector terminals and the sensor terminals to srape it clean and sllightly bend the connector terminals toward the center of their opening and reconnect it and try to start it again. if thats not it try disconnecting the air flow meter and start it with out it...it should run pretty good with it disconnected at idle. but wont rev worth beans.. that is normal. give that a shot.. question though. did the car run pretty good before you started tinkerin with it. or has it always run pretty much like this?

the car ran great for quite some time. It all started when it started bogging, and I saw that the wires for the a/f meter were almost cut in half, i fixed them, and it ran good again for about ten minutes. Then it went back to its old problems.

did you check the temp sensor connector? and did you try running it with the air flow meter disconnected to see if it will idle then?

i unplugged the a/f meter, and it wouldnt start at all, and if it did it just idled out, i checked the connection all is good, but i haven't removed it yet...

checked for vac leaks, nothing......i just dont know why it barely turns over only if you open the throddle body all the way, and as soon as you let it go its done for...

Sounds like its chokin on fuel. Did you ever pull the rail up and observe the injector operation. when the key is on do they just continue to spray fuel when not cranking? also are you checking the 2 wire connector for coolant temp not the single wire for the temp gauge?

SO i took the car to a auto repair shop.....they found out that the fuel pump that i bought from discount auto parts was leaking fuel from it's seems...................they got me a aftermarket pump and installed it, but i still have problems the car doesnt make any power??? Its idle jumps around, and when i put the pedal to the floor i get no response......I'm gonna take the car back to them in the morning so they can look at it, but i dont want to spend the money if i dont have to.....so i am once again asking for advise....But, hey at least she turns on now........also its alittle hard to crank it started????
