Temperature changes the way speakers/subs perform (Resistance wise)..A subwoofer will have variable resistance with music also, therefore the amplifier could be getting between 2 ohms and 20 ohms hence the difference in sound (read: Power being applied to the subs).
Also, Temperature can change the pressure of a given space (like a car) since Subwoofers create SPL (sound pressure level), this may also be why it sounds louder at certain Temperaturelevels.
