People who buy cars for prestige have self-image problems....or a-holes.JazzyG wrote:This month's C&D has a comparison of the G versus a BMW 328. Once again the editors chose the Bimmer by a very close margin of 2 points. Upon close examination of the scoring, the Bimmer won by some very subjective and bias scores. C&D indicated the 0-60 times at 5.5 seconds. Every other publication has the G doing much better than that. Maybe BMW has C&D on the payroll?
Consumer Reports, in their latest issue, rates the G 95/100 and the 328 a 78/100. Their rating is much more in line with reality and reflects the importance on reliability over prestige.
Try doing some research to try and determine how much in advertising $$$ C&D accepted from each.JazzyG wrote:This month's C&D has a comparison of the G versus a BMW 328. I believe R&T is owned by C&D.pippen99 wrote: I agree on your opinion of C&D, Motor Trend is OK, but Road and Track rules. I have been a subscriber for nearly 25 yrs and would'nt do without it. Peter Egan maybe the funniest writer in all of auto journalism. I find their reviews to be the fairest of all the car magazines I've sampled. Great articles and fantastic photagraphy!
You are correct. Still I find R&T to be far superior. Apparently the editorial staff operate independently of each other. Actually they are owned by the same media conglomerate Hachette.JazzyG wrote:

I mean hell an RSX type S with 205 hp and only weighing 2900lbs can't do it....so how is the bmw with 500lbs more able to do it??
Lies i tell you...maybe a 335 can get down in those numbers or lower...but the only way a 328 is getting acceleration like that is if it's a 128....
This is freaking greatPoyzinous wrote:BMW's have their own dragstrip at Car and Driver. It goes down a hill.
