I use msn.com as a homepage. There was an article by Car and Driver about the cars with the best gas mileage. Versa wasn't even mentioned. Couldn't believe it. Lots of hybrids made the top 10, SmartCar, Yaris, and Fit. The article stated that the Fit gets 28. I get 30 in my Versa. http://editorial.autos.msn.com...enger

They rate them according to EPA combined mileage, with the city mileage being the tie breaker. The Versa falls just short. As do the Accent and Aveo.

I read that this morning, and I was thinking the same thing... but then again, 6 of the top 10 are hybrids... and the SMART car was 3rd

What a joke. Hybrids are so damn expensive and the long term cost is absurd (I'd hate to front the bill for replacement batteries after 4-7 years). And the Smart? No thanks. Almost zero practicality.

I guess it figures the top of list would consist of lowbrids and a go-kart.

Well thats funny. My dealer window sticker said my versa would get a combined 29mpg. I actually get about 34 combined. (Mostly freeway though)

The Versa is not officially in the same class as the Fit or Yaris; considered in the next largest class elsewhere in the world. That extra couple hundred pounds makes a difference. Plus bigger.
