car alarm sensitivity

When lightning strikes when loud road bikes go by when I shut the trunk hard when anything loud happens by my car it goes off anyone have any insight is it just sensitive or is there really something wrong?

That's normal for any car alarm with a shock sensor. Mine G only got tricked once when a truck with REALLY loud exhaust roared by about 10 feet from the car. Lightning storms usually result in a chorus of car alarms throughout the neighborhood.

I think that sounds pretty typical. Here in Myrtle Beach during the Spring and Fall motorcycle rallys, there frequently are groups of bikers (Harely Riders with after-market exhaust systems) who take great delight in riding through parking lots to see how many car alarms they can set off. Please don't flame me....I've ridden motorcycles for almost 50 years, but tried to always ride with a sense of respect for the ear drums of those around me.

Alright just so its normal and i used to live in myrtle beach for a little while then I came back home to syracuse but its just annoying because i always feel like i get the loud biker with the exhaust that sets it off oh well i guess its the baggage that comes with a nice car!!!!!!!

people who drive those bikes should be hit in the face with a spade i was in a friends g35 coupe and he had a loud exhaust but not even close to what the biker have and a cop pulled us over and he begins writing a ticket for a loud exhaust and explaining to us the law about the sound level and in the middle of his sentence a biker flys by and even thought he is standing in the window talking to my face i stop hearing him for 5-6 seconds and he acts as thought he didnt even here the biker
