cant shift sometimes please help!

i've had previous clutch problems such as soft pedal and i fixed it by adjusting the pedal and bleeding the clutch lines.

today i was driving home from the freeway when i felt some resistance when pressing the clutch, about half way down. not continuous but kinda like steping on a baloon, some resistance at first and none the next second.it was ok for a while untill suddenly i couldnt press the clutch all the way down and couldnt shift out of gear unless i used excessive force. then i couldnt shift into any gears unless i turn off my engine and shift into 1st, then it was hard to shift into the other gears once it started moving.this problem goes on and off on me. i've read the thread on the sleave connecting the release bearing to the fork being broken. is it that or the master or slave cylinder with a broken piston? or is the clutch compents out?
