cant move shifter

i have a 1991 automatic 240sx. and 2 questions i havent been able to find the answers to yet. but first this car was in a accident in 2000 and has been on jack stands ever sence.

#1. my auto. shifter will not move. its like its locked up. even with the car running and brake pedel pushed in. any ideas?

#2 then i roll the ignition over theres a clickin noise that comes from a green box by the brake booster. i think it says auto trans syncro *sp* any ideas what that clickin would be or if its "normal"?

any imput would be much appreciated...
