So I tried unlockin my car today wen my key wouldnt fit in the keyhole. I live in chicago and the weather is like in the teens and my friend said in the cold the metal for the keyhole shrinks. My friend suggested leavin my keys outside and let them shrink as well  . Ne quick tips/suggestions, cuz i need my car for school tomorrow.

perhaps it's just frozen, try squirting some rubbing alcohol or perhaps the aerosol de-icer.

I can't say I've ever heard of a key hole shrinking though, that's news to me.

a slim jim is basically a thin piece of metal/plastic with a hook on one end that can be slid in between the door sill and window. . . you just fish around for the door lock mechanism and pull up to unlatch the door. . .

you probably have moisture in your door locks and they are just frozen. try both door locks and spray something in the locks.

pour hot water on it. It's probably just has water frozen inside it.

just be sure you get it open when you do this because it will freeze up and then it will be even harder. after you get it open, squirt some wd-40 in it to keep it from freezing back up.
