I have a 1984 z31 2-seater coupe, automatic, non-turbo, that I replaced the Heater control valve and the two small hoses (attached to this valve) located at the firewall next to the battery and am getting it ready for my daughter to take to school this fall, however now there is constant hot air blowing out of the defroster vents and I cant get it to shut off regardless of what I put the controls too.
I thought that the Vacuum tank (located by the passenger side headlight ) might be bad due to a fitting being broken so I replaced that with one from a wrecking yard but due to the amount of time that the car has sat and me not marking them (vacuum lines) like a dummy I can't figure out the 3 lines coming out of the Vacuum tank and how they connect to the control valve, etc. I'm figuring that the problem that I'm having is related to a vacuum issue since it was working fine before I replaced the leaking heater control valve.
Also does anyone have a picture of the heater control valve and the 2 water hose connections which are mounted on the firewall next to the battery that I replaced? Just want to conform that its hooked up properly and eliminate a reverse hook-up. I doubt that since the hoses are very short and are formed so that they only should only go on as connected however as usual take a picture or mark before ripping things apart is what I'm telling myself, anyway one is connected to the firewall and the other is to a tube that comes out of the block.
Any advice, pictures, or assistance would be greatly appreciated since its been over 100 here in Gilroy, CA and with the heater blowing the car is no fun to drive.
