Replaced the Heater control valve and hoses last year (car has sat since then unused) and getting it ready for my daughter to take to school this fall. Now there is constant hot air blowing out of the defroster vents and I can't get it stopped. I thought that the Vacuum tank (located by the Right front headlight) might be bad due to the fitting being broken so I picked one up from a wrecking yard but due to the time that things have sat I can't figure out the 3 lines coming out of the Vacuum tank and how they connect to the control valve etc because I didn't mark them like a dummy. Figure that it may be a vacuum issue but until I can get these 3 lines figured out im at a dead stop.

Also does anyone have a picture of the 2 water hose connections for the heater control valve which is mounted on the firewall next to the battery I replaced that and just want to reconfirm that its hooked up properly as well. This is the one that has a connection to the firewall and the other is a hose to the tube that comes out of the block from what I can tell.

Wasn't having any hot air or venting problems till this control valve was replaced. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated since its over 100 here in Gilroy CA.

Is this for a z32 you're talking about? Or the 1984 z31 listed on your profile?

It is for the z31, sorry if it wasn't clear in my posting. Car is a 1984 non-turbo, 2 seater, with automatic, air. Thanks for the response.

Not a problem, but you should repost your question in the "Classic Z Technical" section. This is the Z32 technical forum.

There should be vacuum diagrams for your car somewhere though just have a look.

Thank you. Realized that I had posted this in the wrong location after I posted my reply.
