Ok I drove to work this morning. It wa about 14 degrees here in NC. When I got off work I fired up the 240sx. !st thing I noticed was that the throttle on my safc wasnt reading anything. Just reading zero. If I peg the accel pedal to the floor really quick the car bounces in between 500-1100 rpms. But If I rev is slow it revs up fine. The same thing when moving. So I had to leave the car at work puzzled and confused.

I checked the ground from the tps, signal from the tps to the ecu. And I checked the power. I even cleaned up the grounds on the intake manifold and battery. Everything came out within specs. Then I checked over my wiring of the safc. Nothing. Then I seperated the safc b/c last time I was having issues with the rb25 I found that the plug inside the safc came unplugged.

I also unplugged the maf while running and the car shut down. Unpluged the tps and the idle changed. I also checked for codes. The only code that poped up was 55. Seems to mean all good.

FYI: yesterday I installed 3 gauges, pillar pod and water temp hose adapter for the sensor. That was it. after doing so I drove the car for about 1 hr. Parked it,went to sleep and went to work the next morning.

Does anyone have any ideas.

Sounds like it might be something in the safc.

Temporarily unplug the safc from its harness and jump the MAF in and MAF out wires at the safc harness. (quick search online said it was the yellow and white wires)

Im pretty sure there is something wrong with the afc since the thrl isnt reading and I know that the ecu is getting the signal. But then again the only thing that runs through the afc and to the ecu is the maf signal. And the maf is working. Everything else is just spliced into the factory harness.

What about the knock sensor,or O2 sensor. What are the symptoms when they go out.

Could the tps sensor send out the proper signal but still be faulty??

The SAFC actively reproduces the MAF signal.. So just because the MAF signal is good going into the SAFC doesn't mean the signal is still good going to the ECU.

I would try jumpering those two wires and take the SAFC out of the loop.

^^^^ you where right. I was getting like .0200 volts from the maf with the ign on and 5.??? volts after the afc. I removed the afc and now my car is running like crap again b/c I have an non-recirc bov installed. Im dealing with a guy in WA right now. Looks like ill be getting nistune here in about 2-3 weeks.

I was going to do the outside of my car this next 2 months but it seems that I will be focusing on the engine this year. So manifold, and injectors are on the list as well.

400+ whp here I come. looking for the 11's
