cant get caliper to mash in so i can install rear brakes

91 240 .i used the c-clamp trick for this and i cant get the caliper to mash in so i can install rear brakes.any help would be appreciated

if this is a 240sx, you need the piston cube to turn the piston back inside. its literally a brass cube you can place a 3/8" ratchet into to twist it. unlike the front brakes which is like a cup you compress.

Yeah, you have to twist it to get it in. You can usually get it done with a large flat head screwdriver but I think autozone or like will rent you a piston cube.

i did it yesterday with a plyer that is the perfect thickness to fit in the two cracks.

this maybe a dumb answer but did you remove the brake fluid reservoir lid to release pressure?

thats only in case fluid backs up the system. have rags around the base of the BMC to catch all the brake fluid. u dont want to eat away paint!

so what happens when you turn the piston and the damn thing doesnt go back in, ive turned it 50 times and it isnt any closer to fitting, it hasnt moved.
