I dont know where this misconception started, but 9:1 ka24de pistons DO NOT provide 8:1 in a ka24e.
The ka24e compression ratio would be closer to 7:1.
Using standard dish ka24de 9.5:1 pistons, the ka24e compression ratio would still be under 8:1.
For an 8:1 compression ratio in the ka24e, you want about 5cc of dish volume with a standard 34mm compression height. A 9.5:1 ka24de piston comes in at about 15cc dish, and an 8:1 piston over 22cc.
I do not know where to find some off the shelf ka24e forged pistons, all of mine I get done custom.
