I can't find for my 2006 Infiniti m35x an "Air Intake Hose" apparently I have noticed a drop in MPG and I saw a crack on my hose so I taped it over carefully and it is a temporary fix. However, I cannot find this part in the life of me and have searched multiple websites, I can't even find the part number. I just keep getting the image of the Air Induct Assembly. I am just trying to replace the hose at all costs to prevent replacing the whole part which is $200.

Hello. We might be able to find some shared parts with other Nissan products.

Show us some pictures to help us assist you.
- what part is damaged?
- what part are you trying to purchase?
- which one is the whole part that you would rather not buy?

I'm guessing you tore the 'boot' for the air intake which looks like this:

Right?

If so, I'd take the opportunity to do a slight upgrade to your intake and just go get a Z-Tube from eBay. It's cheaper than buying the air duct assembly from the dealer or online for ~$180 (Z-Tube is only $75).

http://www.ebay.com/itm/STILLEN-2003-20 ... zO&vxp=mtr

But you'll still need to replace the factory couplers with some 3" (that's the z-tube diameter anyway - not sure about the stock one).

Even if you do that, you'll still come out on top and get a *slight* performance boost at the same time.

Here is my thread on this when I went through the same thing lol:

I just went through the same issue with mine (this part ALWAYS cracks as it gets older) and I ended up buying the OEM part (for the g35) on partsgeek.com for $150 which was a tiny bit better than regular price. If I had known about the Z-tube before I would've gone with that instead.

Looking at the ebay picture, what exactly is the difference between the Z-tube and OEM air intake hose from the M35? They look almost identical aside from the little intake hose inlet being a little further down. The M35 intake does NOT have the plastic air dampener piece extending from the bottom... that is from the g35.

The Z-Tube is pretty much smooth inside while the OEM piece has some spots where it's different sizes, ribs/no ribs, etc...smooth allows for better air flow, etc. It adds a little noise/growl to the engine tone which is probably why the OEM one is not smooth as to keep noise down for this 'luxury' car. One of those moments where engineers went with comfort vs performance lol.

Ilya, YES! The rubber ribbed tube is torn and is currently duct taped. I dont know how long it has been like that or will last me, but if I buy this Z-tube will it replace the whole part assembly? Part for part?

I really like the idea of adding some nice growl and increased performance.

You will need the z-tube + two couplers. I can't help you with the couplers...only one of mine was torn (the one closer to the grill) which was straight...I believe the other one has a curve to it?

Is there any sensors that will be affected by replacing the air intake with this one? Also can anyone help me find the right "couplers" I guess the rubber boots to replace for the new z-tube?

I suggest you go to a place like Infiniti parts online, enter your car's details, search under 'air intake', get the part number, then search around the auto parts shops for an equivalent. The parts shop should be able to sell you the right size clamps as well. Clamps are cheap so why not just use new clamps with the new intake parts?

Im just going to have to replace it with the factory part since the boot is cracked and it comes with those new hoses in the assembly by partgeek, I would love the z-tube but Im not going to buy both just to get new hoses.
