a photochop of wheels im contemplating... imagine with gold z32 calipers all around ...

i was going to go with a grey/gunmetal (like the ones i have) or a dark bronze colorbut these are hot, they might be just a little *too* hot for my setup..

to get these would mean i have to finally do a 5 lug swap

what do you think?

edit> im finding out how much they weigh now, and that is a polished lip, it just doesnt show well (not a *huge* fan of polished lips, but these rims are hot)

Not a huge fan of polished lips either, and if they weigh a ton I'd skip 'em.

Honestly, I'd rather get lighter 4 lug wheels and save the $$$ from the 5 lug conversion for stuff that'll make my car faster. That's just my thoughts as a fellow 4-lugger.

well.. heres the rest of the story... money really isnt an issue for it (i only need to find CA diff gears still)and ive been storing up parts, i have almost everything for a 5 lug swap anyway....

and the wheels i have now are longchamp XR-4Z s, 2 piece alloy, really light16x7 front 16x8 rear (it might be x8 and x9... )

i havnt put on the Z brakes yet ... ive been concentrating on getting the engine finished and installed .. but i have z32 front calipers and rotors , and project silvia braided front and rear lines.

the z32 rear rotors, calipers, hubs and ebrake junk are on the way

so i would only need to still buy the front 5lug stuff

and these rims are 17s over my 16s... i havnt test fitted the brakes inside my wheels yet either

(tomorrow cardomain should be back up, check out my parts list, im not really in need of any more 'go faster' parts ... im just building up the pile of parts ... i like to get a few things done at once while i have stuff taken apart...like this, i need to decide if im going to go with the 5 lug swap or not... then, when i find the CA diff gears, i can build up another pumpkin with the s15 lsd, and install that pumpkin, subframe spacers, and the aluminum driveshaft all at once... if i am going with the 5 lug, i would probably do that at the same time too and install the brakes with itget the entire rear end done at once...

edit> and im getting married soon, so the extra cash wont be as plentiful later on... so stockpiling parts now is part of the plan

are those the gram lights you have chopped on? theyre like $1600 a set right

if so there are much better wheels out there, if what your looking for is functionality, which is what it sounds like

Tyrannix, those look like gramlights and they do look nice especially when you get them to fit real flush. Are the longchamps 4 lug right now?

theyre not gram lights, theyre one of those random japanese brands that ive never heard of

yeah, the longchamps are 4 lug

and the guy selling got back to me that they are pretty light

i have z32 brakes that i havnt put on yet, not positive if they will fit the longchamps, but these (fronts) are 17x8 with a 30 offset, that should clear z32 brakes no problem...

and the more i see them, the more im liking them, the lighting on the photochop wheels and my car is different, im thinking it will look alot better if/when i really get them

this is the longchamps, 16x7 fronts, 16x8 rears

yeah, they actually came with my silvia when i bought itif they were about an inch wider all around (8s in front, 9s in rear) i wouldnt want any others except for events

sometime around the new year i will probably have everything all painted up back to that color

and im going to test fit my z32 fronts inside the wheels. if they fit, i wont bother doing the 5 lug swap or getting new rims

While I like them, the first impression with them on your car from the side is a skyline but with a gold brake setup they would look... well too 'bling bling' in my opinion.

And what is the big deal with 5 lug compared to 4 lug? I have 5 lug on the Lexus and see no difference from the Nissan's 4 lug. In fact 4 lug rims are much cheaper... but I guess they lack in construction quality correct?

And if your getting married why not take that cash and buy something for your soon to be wifely? That's what I would do since the rims you currently have sound fine. I don't have kids nor am married but I hear kids are VERY expensive

Bosrudorfer: The only real difference between the five lug and four lug you mention is that with 5 lug you have a larger choice of wider wheels with better offsets. Most four lug wheels are made for FWD cars, are 7in wide, and have an offset of 40. Another reason why people do 5 lug conversion is the JDM TyTe BliNG bLiNg yo

thats about the long and short of it, 5 lug swaps == more choices for wheels and easier to get ones that fit (and in wider sizes as well)

but if the brakes will work under my current ones, ill be happy... just get an extra set of the same size , ive got my eye on a set of oldschool advans in the same size as these too

Tyrannix....what spoiler is that you are using, it looks very nice on the back of your coupe. I would like to get one also to go with the PDM bodykit i am getting soon.

Oh, and i am not a fan of those gold rims with the color of your car, i dont think they go together very well, but maybe it is just the picture.
