hey guys, i bought a 95 240 a few weeks ago and I can either trade the 240 with my sister for her 99 civic 4door or keep the 240. If i trade her, then i can do up the civic with minimal costs because civic parts are so much cheaper. If i keep the 240, i have to keep it stock because im selling it once im done college (2years)...so should i keep the 240..stock for 2 years and sell...or take the civic and do it up? both are auto..and i am more into show then go...thx -Gurb

what are you serious? lets see...hmmm minimal cost to hook up a civic will mean intake, exhaust, headers, and mabe tires. this along with your stock stock engine will come to a total of 115hp at the flywheel. which means about 95fwhp. compared to your 150hp 240sx. hmmm...j/k stick wit your car.

you have to keep it stock?? i mean theres not too much of a difference in after market parts costs really..other than the availability b/c i know 240 parts are a lot harder to find than honda parts nowadays but that makes it more fun:)

keep the 240 for sure, i mean a all done up civic still looks like everybody else's, cause there "all done up" as well. Plus, its allot more fun to drive a RWD car anyways, drive the 240 for 2 years then after you graduate, buy a 350z :)

Yeah, keep the 240, not too many drive 240s, everyone and their grandmothers has a civic (seriously) 240s are kinda rare to see here, well at least one aday compared to 30 civics.

You only see 30 civics a day? I see that many just at school. :) Hey man keep the 240, you can do it up too maybe just not quite as much, the price isn't dramatically cheaper or anything, if you want quality stuff.Josh

Sure, you'll have plenty of guys on a 240BB recommend a civic over a 240sx. You gotta decide what's important to you. Everyone has their own needs/desires. Both cars are competent reliable, and inexpensive. If you regularly carry two or more passengers, then you should consider the 4 door. If you like to autocross, keep the 240. If you have to drive in a lotta snow, the FWD civic will do a little better than a RWD 240. If styling is important, 240sx is nicer and less common. There are good arguments for both cars. Good luck

First things first, I dunno bout yall, but he wants to do up a honda, i smell rice... that aside, im guessin that you wanna be able to race other people since you wanna do up a civic. whats wrong with doing up your 240. Also nothing wrong with a stock 240. A good driver like myself, could be able to take many cars. Im not gonna say what I have raced cause all i think is that the other driver sucks no matter what he drives.

If he beets me, its two things, hees got the better setup or hees a better driver. Ive lost no lie, and Ive been close in races that shouldnt be close. Its called knowing your own car and what It can take, rather than redlining it and trying to floor it, or thinkin if you put a kick *** fart cannon your car is the shyt. Im not gonna get into this cause you can learn it for yourself. If you like to autocross, all you need is suspension to kick some ***, cause that 240 is all about the corners...

A lot of practice makes a little sleeper :ylsuper

Nuff Said, thats my two sents

I hate to sound like a Honda Civic hating person. Oh, that's right, I am a Honda hater.

If you have to ask this question, you should trade the car to your sister. It sounds like she has the right ideal. Trade you the Civic and cruise in the 240.

dude, your a ****ing idiot, go somewhere else. If you have the nerve to ask this question then you have no right to take up anyones time on this forum. If you trade with your sister (who is obviously smarter than you, hence the reason shes trying to get a 240) your going to fix up a ****in sedan civic. Sedan civics are the **** of the ****, bottom of the barrel. Civics are the laughing stock of the car community, most are poser cars, sedans are the laughing stocks of the laughing stocks. You'll be the f***** that I point and laugh at in my stock 240. My personal advice? Get the civic, give your 240 to your sister, you don't deserve it, idiots aren't allowed to drive Nissans.

I think you should go with the Civic... you don't deserve to have a 240. If at any point someone is contemplating between a 240 and a civic should never, ever, ever be alowed to keep his/her civic. Just trade it and be happy with your civic. I'm not bagging on a civic but don't put a 240 in the same category as them. you can do whatever you like to a civic.. just go with that!

Ok, you've been flamed already, but I have to, I can't help it. First, you're asking HONDA vs 240SX... umm... need I say more? Second, you're asking on a 240SX board... stupid. Third, you're talking "show" on an auto vehicle, and I'd be willing to bet "show" for you is big wings, big wheels, big body kits, neon, etc. You are what we call a "ricer" even though that term has been beaten to death, take the Civic, and give the 240 to someone who doesn't suck.

I'm so glad we all ripped into this kid so quick, this forum is the best. "Do up" a four door civic, "more into show than go", I DEFINETLY smell rice. Get this kid out of here........

Then you are def. asking the wrong people as not many of us have our 240's done up as show cars...in fact..there's probably only two or three in here that have all show without atleast an intake and exhaust...keep your civic...we don't need anymore rice 240sx's..lol..j/k bro...take the 240 if you wanna be different..the civic if you wanna be like everyone else..that simple

He aint kidding. When you get your civic all "done" I hope well meet at a stop light ... =scenario= white s14 pulls up to the light then *insert color here* civic pulls up .. big wing, midas exhaust, hks, apex, dc stikers, CF hood, dropped ... the civic has this cute girl in it, so we rev our engines .. the civic boy tries to impress his date ... the light turns green s14 is long gone and is waiting at the next light while it takes the civic 10 minutes to get there ... at the light the gurl leaves the civic boy and hops into the kewl s14=

if you were planning on modding it then the 240 is the way to go, one thing i have noticed is that the engine swap to an SR20 is not only easier to do than most honda swap's it also makes more power than all of them (excluding the S13 which makes 207 and the H22a making 220)..plus you are alreay turboed so it would respond more well to mods most likely

I agree with you.

If your even thinking about a civic or 240, just sell your 240(to someone who will use it of course) and get the civic and then later on regret your decision.

I think you meant they shouldn't be allowed to keep their 240. As far as that is concerned, I disagree. I personally was contemplating (and I still am) selling my car for a 92-95 civic base model hatch with a b18c1 that runs 12s (my buddy was selling it), but theres a huge difference between that and a civic sedan. The whole sedan part is my problem, civic sedans are the ultimate laughing stock of the import community, only losers mod them. It's like trying to pull an oldsmobile into the import scene, in above its head with soemthign it cant compete in.
