I have a g37 auto and cant burn out. I try to power brake the car once the car hits 3000 rpm the tires stop spinning and the rpms go back down. I have the traction controll off. Is this normal?

Not sure about power braking but the VQ37 cuts fuel if the RPM's are 4000 or above with no load. I've never tried a major burnout as I've not needed to.

Im just not sure if this is normal. I tried to power brake the car and once the car hits 3k it shuts down. Anyone else have this problem?

interesting...I haven't tried it as my car is still breaking in. I know they put controls on the 6MT, but I thought the AUTO was fine.

Anyone else with this problem?

You must have something wrong. Not that I do it very often, but I can make some marks with my auto, AWD...and with the VSC on. AND...at altitude - 6500 feet here in Colo. Springs.

Sorry for your distress. Maybe you should try to get it right...then grow up... :hide

If the car is not moving and the tires are spinning on my 07 sedan the traction control cuts power. It make is very difficult to heat up slicks. What seems to work is going around the water box and then doing a brake stall burn out for a second and then letting off the brakes and letting the car roll forward with the tires still smoking.

Video example

This seems to be a known issue with the Titan community and they effectively hacked into the ECM harness for the parking brake and added a on-off switch. Not sure if someone with a G37 has determined the appropriate wire or location at this point.

Back in the 60's/70's burnouts were common place.

You need to get yourself a set of vintage Goodyear Polyglass wide ovals. The rubber was so hard on those tires you could get 100,000 miles out of a set no problem. lol

i dont know about the g37 but i know the g35 kills the engine when u are one the gas and the break at the same time. guys got around that by pulling out the brake light fuse which is fine if ur at the track but doesnt really work for driving on the street. and the titan guys have an on/off switch for it but its a V8 ecu anyone finds that wire for the VQ let me know

Mine just sits at 2800-3000 rpm...won't go higher but doesn't shut off either. I get the tires warmed up but thats about it...no big smoke show, I guess thats why I have the Chevelle!

how do you burnout in an AWD G37? I have the G37x AWD coupe and when you lock the rear wheels the fronts hook cuz its awd so it doesn't burnout at all. I can't get it to peel out even of course i have 16k on it and im still not stomping on it or even trying to lock the rear wheels with putting my foot on the brake??? I want my car to last that s*** just doesn't make sense, Yeah i mean if I have a rear wheel drive Charger like my brother with upper four hundred horse or my dads mustang with four hundred horse i mean yeah those are fun car to attempt a burnout in that's not gonna really hurt the car other than the tires wearing down but and automatic awd G37 i mean why bother yeah its fun and I would love to do it but isn't that just a recipe to break parts i dont know maybe im wrong but it seems that way to me
