cant boost over 10 lbs???

hi everyone, i got an sr20det s13 black top, the mods that i got is blitz SBCI-D boost and power meter, SAFC, stock # E5 ECU, S15 turbo, rest are just gauges, i was wondering why cant i boost over 10 lbs. if i try to use the SBCI-D to boost over 10 lbs it will CHOKE. any ideas? thank you.

P.S i have a Z32 mafs too. i also check for boost leak but no boost leak and even if there is i shouldnt be able to boost at 10 lbs. thanks you all.

check afc settings- get it dynotuned, check wasegate actuator- it may be sticking a bit- give a love tap. It is always best to throw it on a dyno and check your powercurve- it usually explains alot.

wastegate busted but more likely if its not tuning there is a leak. maybe the BOV is getting stuck/blown open. check it.

i have an HKS SQL BOV on my cold pipe and my s15 turbo is brand new from phrase2motortrends for 1000 to 2000 mile now. just race once at the track and figure out that it didnt go over 10 lbs or it will choke like rev redline. and if there is leak in the bov should i be able to boost at 10 lbs ? anyways please help.... :( :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

sounds like u running rich i am having the same problem i am changing the spark plugs and recirculating the HKS BOV i will let u know how it works out by the end of the week i am also running the blitz sbc id3......everytime i raise the boost level past 9-10 it will studder up top in the rpm band

Boost leak... tighten all of your hose clamps and make sure the hoses are on there correctly.

Another possibility is that you are running the incorrect spark gap.

well i just got done changing my spark plugs which were gapped to a crazy .45 they were bosch platnums so i put in some new ngk's gapped to .28 i will let u know how she runs tommrow.........

.28 is what everyone runs

no problem i need to figure it out too :D i hope its not the boost controller because we seem to be running the same one what do u have your setting set too??

alright well i have been driving around all day and i must say WOW!!! all my problems went away i used the exact same setting u are using and not one problem........before i couldnt boost 10 without it sputtering and now i just got done running 14 all around town and it held and pulled strong all the way through.....took some ****y V8 mustang owners and made them look like FOOLS!!! hahahaha so much fun.........anyways yeah i suggest pulling at least one spark plug out and check it out and check the gap and what not.......because my car used to run fine with those spark plugs gapped at .45 then one day it just decided to spudder and **** up top.........i got some NGK BKR6 in their now gapped at .28........perfection.......hope it helps u out too!!! let me know if u want me to try anything else out......

thank you electric man, you solve my problems, i got the spark plugs for sentra ser and it was gap at .45. i think this is way it choke over 10 psi but. i gap my to .28 to .30 and i ran fine at 14 psi. thank you a whole bunch. :ylsuper i ran for 2 days now and no problem or so ever. YES. Time to kick asss. :).:icesangel

GREAT news yeah i had the SER spark plugs too :( ............ glad it worked out and yeah i am kickin *** now too :ylsuper
