Hello everyone.

Once again when I get stuck I want to ask you for the help

anyways.... I was replacing the break pads today, the first time on this great car.

The situation is: as the new pads are thicker I have to push the cylinders in so the caliper can be sat back in place. Well I have successfully done that on 3 wheels with no problem but the cylinders on the left front one would go in and I cannot put the new pads. Now the question

what can the problem be and what can I do Thanks a lot in advance

1st guess...sounds like you need a knew caliper. the piston can get rusted and then stuck in the caliper. to actually verify this b4 yo go and blow money on an expensive caliper, open the bleeder valve on the caliper, then try to push the piston back inif no go then you need a caliper. if it dose move then your looking at the brake line being clogged. to find out more specificaly, close the bleeder and begin to crack open the line.. starting at the rubber hose. then push the piston a bit, keep going further back up the line until you find where it is clogged at and replace it.altho its very common for a caliper to be the culprate. good luck

Thanks Ben, I think this is what I will do tomorrow. I will keep posting when I get any results. Before I made a post here I was thinking that I should probably disassemble the cylinders and check if they are stuck.

If it comes down to you needing a new caliper, remember that you can just get a used one from a salvage yard or order from a salvage yard. You will save some money. It's what i did.

I did that today , got no luck with the pistons they seem to be stuck..disconnected the line unscrewed the caliper it´s the same the pistons are stuck I tried to push them 5 times a force I used to push the others and no luck. so I just ordered the rebuilt one from Parts Store here in Mississauga,ON and they are bringing it tomorrow Nissan wanted 450 for the new one I paid 200 for the rebuilt one + they will return me $75 dollars core charge when I pick that one up and bring them back mine. so it's all around C$130 in total...

just as a caution: the calipers should never be taken apart unless you have the rebuild kit handy. those kits are usually hard to find tho. plus the core would not be valid if you take it apart, or at least most places

I paid 50 bucks from a salvage yard over two years ago and mines are fine

Spencer, the thing is J30 are very rare cars up here in Toronto so it's very unlikely to find one on the junk yard

everything is fixed, thanks a lot guys for your replies. Replaced front pads, rotors and put re-manufactured calipers. So far everything is good. The pads and the rotors are still getting used to each other so she is still breaking worse than before but a good news is that some little vibrating sound has disappeared I believed due to the bad caliper replacement. And I still get a funny smell from the covering thing burning on the rotors. Despite of the fact I have cleaned it something still remained. Hope everything will be good
