I have an I35 that is four years old and never had a problem. All of a sudden, I go to the gas station and I cannot open my fuel door. I have pushed the button a million times and nothing is happening. Please help! I am almost out of gas! Thanks so much!!!

Is there a fuse for the release?

I would start there. If that doesn't work, you might try calling the dealer to see if they have a method of opening the door without the button.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but my I30 has never given me a problem.

Pop the trunk and see if there is a mechanical release on the left side of the trunk space. It's usually signified by a big yellow handle and velcroed to the trunk tining.

I have the same problem, although my fuel door "pops" it doesn't actually release and pop due to it being clogged and non-lubricated.. I was able to force the door open, but now it's bent all to hell and while it moves back and forth properly now... I can't bang it back into place so itll close properly. I most likely need to buy a new one. I did some quick looking around online on aftermarket stores and couldn't find the actual fuel door assembly..

anyone know where I can get one? Other than from a dealership.. they wanted 75$ for the metal.. 65$ for the paintjob and $105 for the installation..

two screws? no thank you, parts only please.

this happened to me too. what you need to do is pry the door open with a butter knife wrapped in paper towel. it will bend the clip inside but once you get it open you can reform the clip. what seems to happen is the cable that pulls the clip pops out and thats why the door wont open
