...hello all!

I've tried everything I could think of short of taking a cutting torch to it. But I cannot get the driver's side rear door open.

The window rolls down. I can hear the lock solenoid actuate, or cycle several times when I hit the door unlock.

It sounds like it cannot complete the unlock. had anyone had a similar issue, and if so, what did you do to correct the problem?

TIA

Ralph

I had the same problem with my front driver door. Unfortunately I had to roll the window down and pry the interior panel down enough to get at the inside of the door. However before it completely shut down on me, I had hit the inside of the door several times to get it open, sometimes I used my foot to kick it. Brutal I know, but worked. It turned out to be the lock actuator went bad. It was sticking and that's why hitting it worked once in awhile. Since I didn't fix it when I had the chance, it locked up completely and that's why I had to tare apart my door panel. So maybe try hitting it first.(near the lock) There is also a topic on this site that tells you about a relay you can disable to get it to work again. Hope this helped alittle.

Hello Craze K,

Thank you kindly for taking the time to reply.

And thank you for the tip. I will try to compel this door to open with some more thorough methods similar to what you suggest.

I will do a search for that topic on disabling the relay.

Heres a thread you can check out. There is a picture on it as well.My relay was under the steering wheel more to the left of the car. I don't think thats what went wrong with mine. It was definitely the door lock actuator inside the door that got stuck in the lock position. I couldn't even use a key to unlock it. Thats why beating the interior door panel near it worked sometimes to open it. My other doors work fine. Although once my actuator stuck and from me breaking it to get my door open, I had to buy a new one. Lots of people seem to have alot of lock issues with the Js.I get my parts at everythinginfiniti.com or car-stuff.comHope this helps. K
