canister purge

my service engine lights on on my ka24de. the reading came up with canister purge valve. can anyone help me locate this sensor and replace it. the diagram on my hood with the vacuum lines was no use. also how many people are running 93 octane in a stock ka?

Look towards the rear of the valve cover, near the firewall. You should see the engine room harness snake across the back. Coming off that harness are two connectors, about 2/3"x1/2" in size. The canister purge solonoid is the one on the right(drivers side). Make sure the connector is seated well, and that it has a locking-pin in to keep it in place.

I suggest you download a FSM if you plan to work on your car, but in case you don't have the means to, here's a full vac diagram. Might want to print it out and stash it away somewhere safe. :-)

i am running 93 octane why do you ask

because i wanted to make sure i wasnt the only one paying 2.25 for 93

you're lucky you're only paying 2.25...im paying 2.46 for 93 right now

Yeah, it can be worse! I paid 2.24 for '87 yesterday. It was super-nice out yesterday, and I attribute it to that. I think the pump price is connected to the weather station.
