Obama: "Blah blah blah CHANGE."

"Blah blah blah HOPE."

"Blah Blah Blah I'm an idiot."

...Oh wait, did I make up the last one?

McCain: Scary grin, awful speech delivery, willingness to switch long-held and much-admired positions to become electable.

Obama: "Um um um um", sometimes-condescending professorial demeanor, unwillingness to get into sometimes-needed political fisticuffs, propensity to vote "present", willingness to cao-tao to the left even when he doesn't believe it.

Biden: Inability to keep his f**king mouth shut sometimes.

Palin: The fact that she isn't Joe Lieberman? Does that work?

We interrupt this damn cool thread to bring you a Public Service Announcement from the NICOclub Department of English Proficiency:

Kowtow: To show extreme deference. Great word, often used inaccurately.

"Toe the party line", not "tow the party line". Great phrase, also often used inaccurately.

Now, back to your regularly-scheduled programming.

to be fair Hitman, there are both types.

You have people who "toe the party line" (can't come up with an honest example both sides are mostly full of crap)

and then there are people who "tow the party line". Why the flying fstop is the party 'whip' a recognized position in congress. So basically we are recognizing a position with the responsibility of encouraging people to vote with their parties as opposed to potentially their own opinion or the interest of their constituents.

I don't disagree, but there's no appropriate use of the word "tow" (as in, to pull) in this context.

Another +1. I always think of the South Park Canadians when he says that. "I'm not your friend, buddy!"

McCain: Fake grin - always claims to be a "maverick" but the 2008 version of McCain is about 1% of the maverick of Kucinich/Paul/Feingold, thinks fighting earmarks is a big deal, when they are about 1% of the Federal budgetObama: Speaks at too high of a level for his audience, unnecessary pausesBiden: Can be a blowhardPalin: Voice like fingernails on a chalkboard, coached responses
