I just bought a Versa SL with CVT in Magnetic Grey last night. I get it on Wednesday. In case you canucks didn't know, Nissan is offering 1% interest if you put down 40% of the purchase price on a 60 month finance. On 48 months it's only 30%, and on 36 months it's 20% down to qualify.

Thanks to my $8,000 down, I'm paying $246 a month. If the normal interest rate of 6% applied, my payment would have been $278!

So check it out if you're close to buying a Versa.

When I bought my Versa (in Canada), I got 4.9%. Then a couple weeks later they started giving 1%

The 1% deal is lasting longer than that. It's already Feb and they're still advertising it.

Not verified but i am pretty sure you can save more by keeping your money (no down payment at all). If you pay 40% of the car price, that’s about 10 000$CAD and god knows there are ways to use 10k to get richer. May be another trap for “smart” consumer.

To our friend who invests his money wisely ....So you pay the 23,000 (this would included GST,PST,and MSG) with money stolen from a bank or your corner 7-11? How about just driving off the lot in the middle of the night.

Who said you have to pay 23k? What i meant is you don’t give down payment at all and you pay monthly fees to its fullest. Nissan will place your money in account where it will grow with interests, you can do the same but keeping that money is more beneficial. The difference is whatever or not you will find a better way than Nissan to use you own money.
