I'm very close to buying a Versa, but the fuel economy is my one sticking point. Can the canucks on this board post their METRIC numbers? Also, please let me know if you are driving manual, CVT, or the auto S transmission. Thanks a million.

I've gotten anywhere from 550-700 with mostly highway driving, I think it's gone down a bit now that the cold weather is here...

I drive an SL with CVT.

I have the S 4AT and I've just hit about 1150 KM and am getting about 550KM per tank. I do about 50/50 city/highway. But since I am just on my 3rd tank now I am expecting the fuel economy to get better..... I'd be happy with 600+km per tank.

This sucks. I have a SL with CVT. Mostly city driving. I'm getting from a low of 420 to an amazing high of 480. And it's not like I drive this thing hard. My crappy mileage is the only thing I dislike about the V so far. Is anybody getting mileage as bad as me??

I have the SL CVT Versa which I like -however my biggest dislike is the gas mileage --I'm currently getting 23.4 MPG in the city here in the US and i'm not driving the car hard.

Yeah, I am also getting real low milage, about 420 to 500km per tank usually averaging near the 10 liters per 100km, I have about 4700 km on this car. I love it except for the mileage that should be better that this

I got my V on last Wed and I used half of the tank and it runs 310 km. If it keep like this. I am expecting 600-620 km per tank.

So far, my wife and I love the V. It is very quiet and smooth. I think the CVT does its job.

We are driving SL CVT and 50% city/highway.

The gauge in my Versa is the worst of any car I've ever owned. I get 250 - 280 km on the 'top' quarter tank. The one time I ran it down to almost dry, I only got 80 km on the indicated 'bottom' quarter.

I wouldn't go for the V if gas mileage is very important. In the Canadian V brochure last summer Nissan were touting 37 mpg city and 45 highway.

The V IS NOT a 40 mpg car. I have an SL with CVT. I've had it 4 months and am very pleased. I get 24.5 mpg city and 36 highway.

well I got my V in Guelph with a full tank and filled up for the first time on Nov. 22Now 780 litres of gas later ( yes this is mostly highway driving) I have about 9700km on the car and my average is 8L/100km.This is a far cry from the 6.5L highway, 7.2 city that was in the brochure.I ask the dealer about this and the service manager told me that the actual testing is done under ideal conditions without the a/c, flat road and no wind.Well I drive 200km per day 90% highway and average about 110km/hr with spurts of 120.Revs run at 2500 to 2700No air turned on ( service manager states that the a/c still comes on even if you turn it off)

I feel the 8L/100km is way off base compared to what was advertised and it was one of the reasons I bought the car. Lots of room and great mileage.Am I wrong here and just accept the mileage?

my first tank i got about 460 but that was driving with a/c on all the time, but i was keeping the rpms below 2000.....

My second tank i got about 380, and that was with no A/C, but i was reving it alittle more, but still below 3000.....I think driving in the snow had a lot to do with the decrease. This is still a lot better than my 98 prelude...and i no longer have to use premium gas so I am happy.....we'll see how long my third tank lasts

EDIT* forgot to mention that I have an SL with CVT and I've only driven in the city

sorry for got to mention, my 500-550kms per tank is on sl with cvt.

the one thing that threw me off for a while is that the gas gauge can fool you, i always get 300 or more kms on the first half tank, but the metre goes down alot faster on the 2nd half, so it is not truely accurate to just double the kms on the first half of the tank by what the metre shows as being half full.

I average between 480 and 520km per tank. The most I got was 560km, the light came one. I had used 44L of gas. That was pretty good. The last 3 fill ups has been about 470km on 38L. I would say my driving is 60-70% highway and 30-40% City.

Mine is SL, CVT, has 6500 km, bringing it in for first service tonight.

OMG, that totally sucks. I have my SL 6spd on order, and now I hear that the mileage sucks. My 96 Integra rs gets 500-600km per 45 litres a tank. I think I made a mistake. The only reason we got one is because my father inlaw got us a discount on a Versa cuz he used to work for Nissan. I should have bought a Honda Fit.

I have the SL 6 speed manual, and I'm getting roughly 500-550kms/tank. One thing I have noticed is when your tire pressure is low... drastic seasonal changes in the GTA... you get significantly less kms/tank. That last part is just a heads up!

About 400-450km with the CVT; 100% city. Vancouver traffic is like NYC, stop and go every block. The construction of the Canada Line isn't helping either.

so where is the 750km between fill ups as they advertised in the brochure. I have had other cars and have never seen mileage so far off base.Averaging 8L/100km

Me thinks many 6 cylinder e.g. GM cars get similar mileage as V. I wonder if NNA advertising folk got wires X with Tiida 1.5L mileage. Not perhaps knowing NA V getting the Renault Scenic plant..?

Also on off topic I wonder if they want the union in down there in hot springs, Mexico and hammering in door mirrors and other grinchy doings...

2 bucks/hr and living in shanty town.

I have had 550km (this is with 80% city driving in Montreal). I am very happy with it even it doesn’t meet the brochure statement. I find sufficient to rev up to maximum of 2000 rpm, i also do a lot of cruising and try not idle for nothing.

I get roughly 400-450km per tank, but that's right now during winter where it's -25C usually and sometimes -45C outside. Also, I let my car idle for a couple minutes, and my drive to work is only 7 minutes, so that's why mine isn't all that great. I'm still satisfied.

What's your transmission, and why don't you use the block heater?

CVT, and I do use the block heater overnight when it goes below -25C. I took a look at my mileage again and I think I'm closer to 450 than the 400.
