Hello,

I'm probably moving with my family to Canada soon (Ottawa), I tried selling my coupe here. Unfortunately the market for the coupe is not that good, and my car has done less than 24K Miles, so I can't really sell it for cheap.

Now I've been thinking about shipping the car there, but I don't know how much I will pay for the registration, insurance, taxes.. etc. (nvm the shipping cost). Do you have any idea how much all of that would cost? Even some rough numbers will do! I want to figure if shipping the car there is really worth it or not.. It's a 2009 3.5 CVT #1.

Thanks!

I don't know the answers to your questions, but you can probably start here:

Skimmed it and it looks like it's going to be very difficult bringing your car over to Canada. Good luck none the less!

SHIP IT ! i live in OTTAWA WE CAN BE FRIENDS HAHAHAH ! any ways yakhi if you love your car ship it im not sure how much it will cost. But this is the law here from what i understand about shipping vehicles. . You have to notify the CBSA (canadian border services agency) about you importing a car to Canada. If you have any question you really should call them because it is a hefty process. Lets say your car cost about $50,000 you would have to pay roughly $3,500 in taxes. You have to get it inspected to Canadian high way traffic actstandards. My friend had a toyota land cruiser that his dad shipped here for him and he had to switch up a couple of things $400-$600 worth. But import tax was roughly $6,000. As for insurance. I pay $1400 a year ish and im 26 and i drive the 3.5.

Registration info is right here

Import info is here
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications ... ng.html#s4

bro PM me if you need any info ill be more than happy to help

Walid.

insurance: $1500 a year
gas: $75-80 to fill the tank
license place renewal: $82 a year

You'll also want a good set of winter tires.

+ The taxes, sounds good. I might just ship it if I don't fund a buyer soon.

Thanks! :yesnod
