Facts never lie. While shopping for a new car, I tried out an M45 AWD while on a business trip in California and was very impressed with the quality drive experience. But when it came time to buy it in Canada, I was realy P...... to be on the CANADIAN side of the border. Let me explain...

Infiniti.ca still promotes the 2007 M series only. the 2008 is not to be found. Both M45 offerings are quite different. Compare the following packages and tell me how many differences and innequities you see. Some are totaly unacceptable in my view. I ordered an EX35 instead hoping the Canadian price will be around 52K. I'll buy myself a little nissan as a second car.

Infiniti.ca 2007 Infiniti M45 RWD (HEY! no M45 AWD in Canada)Base MSRP* $66,000.00 Serengeti Sand Wheat / Rosewood Ultra Premium Package $6,200.00 (why call it ultra? sounds like a tide commercial) 3 Coat Paint $285.00 Destination and Handling $1,695.00 Total Designed MSRP† $74,180.00

Infiniti.com 2008 Infiniti M45 AWD Base MSRP* $51,850.00 Exterior Color Sahara Sandstone Interior Color and Trim Wheat Leather/African Rosewood Packages and Options Premium Package $9,650.00 Configured MSRP* $61,500.00 Federal Gas Tax $1,300.00 Destination and Handling $715.00 Total MSRP* $63,515.00

So please don't be shy and give me your oppinion and assessment on this M45 Showdown.

CLUES: at least 7 major differences found so far.

May the comparaison begin. NISSAN CANADA

There are advantages of both, the biggiest and most obvious one being Price gap. Now if do buy one from USA you'll pay tax in usa, and then a duty again when crossing the border. You have to pay shipping which is be around 2grand, unless you want to drive it up. Then you need daylight running lights the becm and have to get a inspection and your odo needs to be Kilo, and tach needs to represent the kilometers instead of the mph.(the canadain dealerships jacked the price of the becm because of border buyers.). And guess what, infiniti Canada wont honor the warrenty if you buy a one from the states, so it's really up to if it's worth it or not.

Infiniti USA website says USA Warranty is good in Canada. Here is the link: http://www.infiniti.com/pdf/ow...7.pdfFrom that link, click on 2007 New vehicle limited warranty. Canada is covered at the 1st paragraph of the "Applicability" section.Did you get something from Infiniti Canada or a Canadian Infiniti dealer stating otherwise?Cheers

I just got my EX35 and paid 50.5KCAD. the same version in the USA is 46,8K USD. because this car is built in Japan, you have to pay a 6% duty fee = 3KUSD. So the savings are very slim, less than 2%.

End of story.
