Searched around but didn't find an answer to this... I have a '94 R32 GT-R that is legally registered in BC, Canada. I was wondering if I would be able to drive it WA, USA? I heard you can't bring in these cars because USA won't allow it. Does anyone know more about this? If I could bring it into WA, USA, how long can it stay in WA, USA before it has to go back to BC, Canada?

If you are a resident of canada and you are coming to the US for a trip then yes. If you are a US citizen coming home, no.

They would let you trailor it in without a drivetrain but then home land security would come find it and crush it.

so keep it in Canada till its 25 years old then it will be federally legal to drive it across.

I am waiting till 2014 to go north to purchase an 89 r32

even then, i thought that the 25 year importing law for the U.S. is still illegal if the country thats exporting the car is a neighboring country (Canada & Mexico)

Idk about that one. I know you cant import a car that has already been imported once. for example, you cant import a skyline from canada that some guy imported from japan.

But I have read alot about the legality behind a legal skyline and what I have read, alot of which has been posted by nico moderators, is that you have to either buy a motorex stamped skyline or wait... or move to a different country

AHHHHHHHHH!! That's what I probably read and they used Canada and Mexico as an example. MAN! I was searching for the site I got that info from for about an hour until I came back to this thread to reread what you wrote lol. I've done a lot of research on importing as well, I actually almost bought a R33 but backed out thanks to all the educated members of NICO .

NOW, I've been thinking about this Canada issue. Is it possible to have the Canadian resident drive his/her Skyline into the U.S. and sell it to a resident? Of course the whole purchase would have to be hush hush and he/she would have to drive the car to the purchaser. I've been reading that for a U.S. resident to drive a Canadian car here in the U.S., you must have insurance and a written/notarized note stating from the owner that you can drive the car. If this is true, would it be possible to keep the Skyline under the Canadian Resident's name and have him/her simply get the license retagged every year and keep the car in the U.S.? Technically the car will still be Canadian so the Federalies can't export it. Right?

Guys, I'm gonna be honest with you.

The Skyline is a good car, but it's not the greatest car everyone makes is out to be. This coming from a guy that owns an R33 GT-R V-Spec. I love my car, but for reasons other than it being a GT-R.

I love my car for it's racing pedigree. It's beautiful lines (although, some may disagree with me). It's amazing AWD system that was leaps and bounds ahead of it's competition at the time.

It's really not worth the amount of money people are charging/paying for them. They are great cars to own, but I wouldn't even fathom the chance I'd be taking to buy one in the U.S. right now if it weren't a pre-fall-of-MotorEx car. Just not worth the constant over-the-shoulder looks you'd have to do.

If you really want one that bad, your best recourse is to move to a country that they are legal in. Sorry to say, but that's about the only way at the moment.

Is it possible to get cocaine into the united states of course it would have to be hush hush and then you can get it from them. Sean often uses this logic, of course you can get it into country anything is possible.

If you don't want to have to look over your back and worry is this the day they take my Skyline away, do as Gold Digger has stated.
